That style is first seen right up front. This is the latest interpretation of the brand’s Spindle Grille. It looks sleek, even as it is tall with slim LED headlamp units. Stepping inside, you get the full Lexus experience with a completely digital instrument cluster augmented by a head-up display. On the console is a shift-by-wire gear lever. In the middle is a 14-inch touchscreen driven by the Lexus Interface infotainment system. This is the hub for all audio playback, connectivity, and information. Smartphone mirroring is done wirelessly.
Perforated leather with some suede trim adorns all three rows. The front seats are very comfortable for longer journeys. They offer superb comfort and support overall. The second-row captain’s chairs can slide away with just one button to access the third row. However, you would have to reset the second-row seats manually by controls on the lower corner of each seat. There is a center console with two large cupholders. Third row seats offer plenty of space for two people to sit comfortably.
Cargo volume is quite large. Behind the third row, you have 20.2 cubic feet. Folding the third row, that cargo space opens up to 57.4 cubic feet. With the second row down, there is a total of 97 cubic feet.
Our TX 350 tester is powered by a 275-horsepower turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, that also puts down 317 pound-feet of torque. This engine is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission sending power to all four wheels.
For such an engine, it delivers smooth performance without hesitation. Passing and on-ramps are no problem with the TX 350. In terms of fuel economy, we observed an average of 21.0 MPG.
The ride quality is well-balanced and smooth. It just glides on the smoothest surfaces. Handling tends to be a bit on the soft side, but not too soft to shock the TX’s occupants. In fact, everyone on board will have a nice experience inside.
The steering system is quite good. A longer vehicle usually yields a larger turning radius; however the system’s action made the TX a bit nimbler. The on-center feel is augmented by the Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist – a key part of the upgraded Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 suite of driver assistance features. Braking was quite good. A solid pedal feel that turned good stops in normal, panic, and wet situations.
Pricing for the 2025 Lexus TX starts at $56,490. You have a choice of nine models with three distinct drivelines – including a turbocharged hybrid and a V6 plug-in hybrid. Our TX 350 Luxury AWD tester came with a sticker price of $73,795.
